To Be Closer To Jesus

Do not grow weary in doing good, for in the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

There are so many miracles that we have been waiting for. Some of them have been waited on for over 35 years, others for 17 years and some for 11 years. Should we give up now because we have not seen the answers? Certainly not!  Long suffering and faith in God is part of our walk with God. There are miracles and healings that are instantaneous, yet others are waited  upon day after day, month after month and year after year. The joy in life is not the answers to our prayers and desires, but rather the joy comes in being at peace while we wait on Him. Our peace and happiness can not be determined by the relief of pressures and sorrows. We must learn to grow closer to Jesus during the trials and tribulations and get to know Him as the Prince of peace.

If we wait for the issues of life to calm down before we can receive joy, then we will continually be sad and dead while yet living on this earth. Through our heartaches and sufferings we are being conformed to the image of Christ. In Philippians 3:10 it says,” that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection through the sharing of His sufferings to become like Him in His death.” In order for us to know the greatness and power of God, we must first die to ourselves. If we are dead to ourselves, then how could disease hurt our relationship with God? How could suffering and heartbreak hurt our relationship with God? For we know that neither death nor life, nor angel nor demon nor tribulation ,not even hell could separate us from the love of God. That includes any trial or situation.

This day, this very moment, no matter what you are facing, believe for a miracle but rest in knowing that He is with you, to walk you through anything that is mountainous to you. The joy is in the journey, not just the destination. When we learn to walk in the fullness of God while in the fire, then we have truly attained what the fire was meant for. Fires of affliction are not designed to destroy us ,they are meant to purify us to grow closer to Jesus!
