In Him we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:28)
I was watching television the other night and I prayed and then fell asleep. I was awakened in the middle of the night to the most unholy nightmare. I was angry and the first thing I said to God was that I prayed before I went to sleep and I covered my mind, my conscious, my subconscious and my unconscious with the blood of Jesus. I bound up all spirits of terror, fears, nightmares and torment with the blood of Jesus! Why God, did you not listen and protect me? I felt a quiet come over me and in my spirit I heard the Lord say,” In Me you live and move and have your being.” I immediately was convicted because I knew what the Lord was saying to me.
So many times we do our daily things and forget God. The ancient Hebrews had a relationship with God that did not end the morning after the sabbath and start the night of the next one, they had a continual relationship with Him. He was involved in their cooking, their entertainment, their family time, even their chores. I heard the Lord ask me,” do you feel comfortable knowing that I am sitting with you watching some of the television you watch?” I said,”Lord, I involve you in everything I do and what I watch isn’t sexual or evil.” Then I stopped a moment and realized that even some of the news channels and regular programs and most commercials are anti-christ. I quickly understood what He meant and I repented. I realize now that truly in Him we live and move and have our being and in knowing that, we bring Jesus to whatever we do and wherever we go. This is not legalism but rather relationship. God is so gentle and kind and loving. Think about what you listen to, what you watch, even what you eat. Is what we eat benefiting the temple of the Holy Spirit? Make a covenant with God today to appreciate His presence in your life not as a guest, but as the eternal Lord and you will think twice before any decisions that are made.
As we walk in this new year of promises being fulfilled, we must shed the things of the past that have secretly held us back. The thought patterns, the things we look at, the places we go and the people we spend time with. Know that the level of power we experience in our lives many times equates to the time and dedication that we have with and to Jesus. I want a greater anointing and greater results for my ministry and prayers, so seeking God should become a greater priority for answers and guidance..
Whatever you are searching for in your life, always know that it is all about Jesus and making Him known!
